“Yoga does not change the way we see things, it transforms the person who sees.”

-B.K.S Iyengar

Sharing yoga from the mountains of West Virginia, I am honored to guide you on your yoga journey.

The January Yoga Challenge is 31 days of yoga. Each class is 15-18 minutes long and in video format so you can do them daily or with the pace that suits your schedule. The classes will be available through April 2025!! (4 months!!)

This workshop is perfect for anyone who would like to start the new year focused on mindfulness, movement and personal growth.

I am so excited to have the Little Mountain Yoga team joining me this year!! Danielle, Laurel and Katie have added so much to the overall vibe of this workshop bringing their unique styles of teaching, leadership and sweet authenticity. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful group of humans in my life!! I know you will enjoy their addition to this course.

Throughout the 31 classes we offer pose variations and modifications to help make the classes accessible to everyone. Each class comes with a description and includes prop suggestions.

Each week we focus on connecting to our practice in different ways to help cultivate mindfulness in our daily lives. We develop a gratitude practice, become aware of what we absorb and where we put our energy, practice pranayama and focus on moving with breath. We also explore different methods to reset the nervous system.

I am available throughout the course to answer any questions or if you have any concerns. You can contact me by email or I encourage you to post in the group facebook page because others may have the same questions. The FB group is also a beautiful way to help hold each other accountable.

Feeling so grateful for you all,

Alison

Hi all!

A little about me. I am a yoga teacher and practitioner, mom, potter and gardener thriving in the mountains of West Virginia. I love building community through yoga and art.

I received my 200 hr YTT training from Asheville Yoga Center and an additional certification in Yin Yoga. I have experience with all levels. I teach power vinyasa flow, slow mindful flow, beginners, chair yoga, Yin and prenatal/postpartum yoga. I also have experience working with students with injuries and mobility limitations.*

I am the founder and owner of Little Mountain Yoga. Our beautiful home base studio is in Marlinton, WV and we also teach at other locations around Pocahontas County. Sharing yoga is my passion and my favorite student is my 4 year old daughter who has been developing her yoga practice on and off the mat!!

*Remember that I am just a guide so please listen to your body and do only what feels good for YOU!! If you are pregnant be mindful of laying on your belly and back and only twist gently if it feels good for you and your babe.

In addition to her yoga journey, Laurel is a high school math and computer science teacher. She enjoys leading the PCHS Yoga Club and sharing the benefits of mindfulness and yoga with teens. Laurel lives with her husband and two daughters on their family farm, where she enjoys hiking, gardening, and outdoor recreation.

Katie Workman, Meditation

Katie Workman is a Licensed Massage Therapist and Reiki Practitioner. Since late 2019, she has been on the winding path of her healing  journey, which began with cultivating a meditation practice.  Through meditation she has found healing that has opened her to a continual thirst for truth and wisdom and the desire to help others connect to their own truth.   She draws inspiration from a vareity of Spiritual and Earth Wisdom Traditions that she weaves into her meditations all of which center around a common theme of Divine Love.  She has worked closely with her primary teacher and mentor Jill Lemke a shamanic practitioner, including a recent retreat with Jill in Sedona, AZ.

Katie leads meditations Saturday mornings at Little Mountain Yoga and is the founder and owner of Mountain Medicine Massage located within Headwaters Spa in Marlinton, WV. Katie deeply believes in the mind, body, soul connection; and that everyone has the potential and ability to heal themselves, which in turn heals the world.
